    In 1998, long before the term "managed services" was an IT industry buzzword, the SLPowers team was hard at work developing today's gold standard. The small to medium business IT support industry relied on a chaotic model whereby service provider only talked to their clients when there were troubles. Subsequently, we were only ever speaking with unhappy clients. Furthermore, if each time a customer had troubles, the service provider got to bill them by the hour, where was the incentive to make that customer's network trouble-free?

    There had to be a better way. We set out to align our client's goals with our own. Our customers wanted trouble-free networks and affordable support. We wanted to charge a fair price and maintain happy customers. And so, we began to develop our program. Our first four customers were on-board by 1999...the rest is managed services history.
